if you can you explain the setup and if its working now... i know there was driver issues..
will i need the dp port still.
i want to get 2 5770 and cf them but want to see if anyone else as a crossfire eyefinity set up that can inlighten me.

also would it be better to get one 5850 or the 2 x 5770 for a eyefinity setup.

its some what supported in the 9.12 hotfix drivers with a few bugs.. but supposedly is suppose to be fixed in the 10.1 WHQL version.. but we will see..

yes you will still need the DP port.. all the displays will be run on 1 card..
 
i was thinking that. but dont wont to spend 300 on the card if they dont work right.
 
could always buy one now.. then buy the second one later when they finally get it fixed..or buy both now and just use dual displays so you can use both cards then when the drivers are fixed add the 3rd display and run eyefinity..
 
My roommate is running 2 5870 in crossfire. He has had a number of issues, and we are still trying to determine if there is a bad card in the mix.

It works well, but some titles get a strange hitching, as if the frame rate is dropping then increasing back and forth.

He also experiences a horizontal tear that slowly moves up all monitors when there is fast movement or motion.

Like I said, we are still trying to sort out if its a bad card, but it looks like theres a lot of work to do with eyefinity. My eyefinity setup is a single card, and i am still experiencing issues with the DP blinking on my 5870 XXX edition.
 
best review I could find regarding 5770 crossfire. couldn't find anything showing eyefinity benchmarks.

anyways, at 25*16, various AA settings, and various AF settings, crossfire 5770 outperforms the 5850 in almost all games and is more comparable to the 5870. also, considering the 5770's low power usage and heat output, there's probably decent room to OC them.

I have 2x 5770's in CF running 3x 30" monitors @7680x1600 I''m using Apple Mini DP to DVI adapter and another Mini DP to DP adapter and it's working fine both cards oc'ed to 950/1400 Stock volts or 1000/1400 w/1.25v Had a little trouble setting up at first, (monitors would all be in 6 something by 480 res) but now all seems fine. I've had the LCD with DP plug flicker once but I've updated to 10.1 and has not happened since. Overall I'm content for now, and will be upgrading to something with much more power soon...
 
worked great since the day i installed. well that's not entirely true. i had a few games crash when i first put it in, but i figured out that it was because the main card was overheating due to bad airflow because of the second card. SO i bought two of these:

solved my crashing issue. i bought the second card before xmas and i cannot remember when 9.12 came out, so it might have been with 9.12, but i didn't have to apply a hot fix or anythings (honestly didn't know there was a hotfix until i read it in a post on here)

the two cards work phenomenally. i got a 28xxx score in 3dmark (not sure if i set it up right or not) if that helps. let me know if it doesn't i'm willing to try things that you are wanting to know.

i don't dare OC them lately though. it seemed that when i OCed the Asus 5870 Eyefinity setup i had lots of tearing and issues with it being stable (i read that most eyefinity users experienced this as well even just clicking the enable key started problems) so i don't know if that issue has been solved as i'd love to OC these and see what they can really do when they try hard. i get an average of 91 FPS in real time gaming with fraps in MW2 5760x1080 4x AA all maxed settings. Having said that, my fps did drop when some clan decided to go all smoke bomb crazy and deploy 5 of those things at once, but that was the VERY first time i ever saw or noticed a drop in FPS.
