yeah so I've had my mx-1000 for quite some time now (6 months) and I've been in denial for awhile, but the thing frickin blows. I don't know if it's a driver problem I'm having or if i got a shitty mouse or what, but the thing drags like crazy and keeps on randomly pointing down. it's frustrating to say the least. anyone else having similar problems? and if so, did you manage to fix the darn thing?
word.

drag? point down? not quite understanding what your getting at. I will say that my mx1000 is much better now that I have a good mousepad. I recommend buying a fUnc1030 and seeing if that fixes your problems, if it doesn't you still have a killer mousepad to use with the mx518 or razer you would likely buy to replace the mx1000.

Also, early mx1000 had some sort of problem. They made a second revision that is better, if you have the first revision you could try to get a rma for the second revision.

by pointing down, do you mean that the mouse goes to the bottom of the screen? cause i have a logitech mouse and it does that about once a half an hour, might be a driver problem i dont know

MY old wireless MXwhatever mouse that came with my MX Duo set used to do that, it used to make my mouse (during games) point upwards and send me into a spinning circle. DOnno what made it do that, my new MX1000 does not do that at all, fine for me...

Its funny when ure playing CSS and someone just starts randomely spinning in one spot....

i have an x800 xt pe. I'm using a ratpadz gs(although I'd rather have a func pad) by dragging I mean like...I move the mouse and it takes a little bit to realize I moved it. By pointing down I mean when I play a game like cs:s it randomly just points downward and I can't figure out why. someone helllp

so I'm thinking it might be some sort of usb problem(the dragging anway) can someone tell me how to check to make sure have usb 2.0??

Running XP with SP1 or SP2, check to verify that you have these drivers from the Device Manager:

Date Version File name
29-Aug-2002 5.1.2600.1106 or later versions Usbport.sys
29-Aug-2002 5.1.2600.1106 or later versions Usbhub.sys
29-Aug-2002 5.1.2600.1106 or later versions Hccoin.dll
29-Aug-2002 5.1.2600.1106 or later versions Usbehci.sys

Sounds like the mouse is picking up a seperate surface and tracking it. What type of material is your mouse used on?

Also make sure your mouse isn't too far from the receiver. And that neither of them are sitting on/near a speaker/subwoofer or something like that. I've found that mine doesn't like it when I set the receiver on top of my monitor, it seems to get interference. Just make sure there's nothing messing with your perverbial radio airwaves :)

QFT. Anything sharing similar radio frequencies will have problems. I've had my TV and cell phone interfering each other. I had to walk away pretty far just so I can text message someone.

Use old school Microsoft mice and you wont have any problems.

Anywho...Are you lifting the mouse up when your playing which could cause it to point down all of a sudden?

i have had my mx1000 for many months now and i love it! i never installed the logitech drivers, i just use the stock windows ones.
make sure no dust or lint got up into the little laser hole and it dont matter what mouse pad you use, i have a desk drawer pulled out with a small pillow on it to rest my arm and i can run the mouse around on the pillow and it works perfectly!

maybe delete your drivers and just use the stock windows drivers?

hmm, that sounds familiar. I would go with moving the reciever thingy, mine did that for a bit then i moved the reciever closer to the mouse and away from all my stereo stuff and it worked great ever since. i don't think it's a driver problem...

i have never had any problems with the mx-1000 best mouse i have ever used, i use it on a ratpadz gs but i have noticed it has issues with laminated wood

i'm using a ratpadz gs. i tried using an mx 510 and i still had the same problem. i really am not sure what is going on. maybe I'm just crazy/
