Does an HDMI/DL-DVI splitter designed for PC use exist?

So I curently use two monitors on my desktop. A 120hz TN for gaming and a 60hz IPS for design work. When I'm not feeling like sitting hunched over the desk, I swap out one of my monitors with a DVI>HDMI cable and use the TV in the living room for games. It works, but I'd like a more elegant solution. I'm running a GTX295, which 'should' be able to support 4 (I think) displays, but it's the single PCB version and is limited to 2 displays :(

With that said, I know that I can get a splitter/hub to choose which output I want to use, but I'm not sure if it would play nice with the GPU as far as detecting the display correctly. Has anyone ever used something like this? Can you recommend something? A buddy mentioned using a Matrox card, but AFAIK, it wouldn't use the nVidia GPU for processing, so it would be pointless for gaming.

Any suggestions are welcome.

not that I know of man, it would have to be a powered device. You could theoretically split the one lane coming out and mirror it across two or more outputs but like I said it would have to be a powered device to run the chip that would do the duplication into double or more lanes that are coming in. Maybe someone knows more about this than me though

Why not? Isn't it made for this situation?

Well, in the past I've had a lot of issues with certain monitors not being detected correctly (my old viewsonic 30" for example). I figured that adding a box inbetween the display and the GPU might/could cause some issues like that since the box might not pass the hardware data on to the GPU if that makes sense.

They do exist but the only GPU that can do it are one with 2 DL ports.
Slight different then DVI and HDMI plugs but each port supoprts up to 4 displays

Or find the 6770 with 4 ports HD ports in a single slot design.

I been looking at this one and the 7750 ... =(

You could buy a kvm switch (i think that is what it is called). It shouldn't mess around with your card. All you do is plug in your two monitor inputs to one side, and then plug in the kvm input to the card.

Good luck.
