Does a USBc to Displayport cable work?

I have a OWC Thunderbolt Dock. I would like to use a USBc to Displayport cable to drive a second monitor. Does anyone know if this is possible? A cable like this. The source laptop that is plugged into the (first) USB port on the dock does support Display port Alt Mode if it matters.

it the laptop supports it, and the dock seems to, it should work.
