Does a raid card performance degrade over time?

I bought a used/system pull serveRaid m1015 (a rebadged LSI 9240-8i) but CDM sequential read/write for two g.skill 60gb SF SSD in Raid0 is only 340/133.

OS is win2k8 server R2 and raid mode already AHCI. Perhaps additional settings need to be fixed? My board is MSI k9a2 platinum and proc is amd x2 235e 2.7ghz and RAM 6gb.
 
Did you install the chipset software from AMD?

Make sure the PCI-E slot you have that card in is actually running at x8.

Is the BIOS on the card up to date? What about the drivers for the card?

Did you reset the card's BIOS settings to stock/default before you created the RAID array?

Do you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard?

Do you have all updates from Microsoft installed, including SP1?
 
I would hope the RAID card wouldnt, but those SF drives surely might. I believe there are numerous reports of SF drives performance degrading over time. I had a friend of mine check his and compare his stats a few days versus the original stats we took after he installed it and found that it is prolly 20% slower now vs then. Even still, that seems pretty slow for a pair of SF drives.
