My Altec Lansing MX5021 computer speakers just malfunctioned...the satellites have no sound but the sub works. I took it apart and could not find any blown fuses, bad capacitors, or burnt chips. Out of ideas on how to fix the internal amp.

Hate to see a decent speaker system like this go to waste, so Im wondering if you guys know of a low cost 2.1 amp that I could use to power the satellites and sub directly? Something with an internal crossover to properly split the frequency?

Going to put these in the basement to use as workout speakers, so the cheaper the fix the better.

I don't think there's really any cost-effective solution short of cannibalizing another one for a direct replacement - how much are the speakers worth (new or used)? I couldn't find a price for them online.

This is one of the problems with dedicated 2.1 computer speaker systems - they're not modular at all, so failure of one component often means the whole thing becomes worthless.
