does 1 error in OCCT really mean much?

I gave up on trying to oc my card since it cant go more than 7% without needing voltage just to be stable in all games. so I decided to stay at stock clocks and undervolt a bit from my stock 1.013 voltage. every game and benchmark was perfectly stable at .963 but I decided to use .975 just to be safe.

well I got curious and decided to run OCCT and got lots of errors after about 5 minutes. I then went with .988 and re ran it and got just 1 error. I did re run it at 1.000 with no errors and that is currently where I am at. I was wondering though since OCCT puts the card in such a massively unrealistic load does that 1 error when using .988 even mean much for actual gaming?
 
in all reality no it does not most of the time errors will come out as a few pixel which you would never notice in a frame that will probably get thrown out and never even displayed. that being said there is always the chance that you will find some applications simply too unstable to run.

IMO it's all about how much instability you are willing to tolerate having your gpu clocked to fast won't actually damage the card (clocking your memory to fast can because some cards dynamically adjust memory voltage based on clock speed) but over volting it to far absolutley will. so for me if I had to make the choice I would rather stay safer on the voltage side and deal with the possible risk of instability.
 
No it doesn't, but if 1.000 is stock then I'd stay with that honestly. Sure .988 may be stable for games but who knows...could cause a single crash randomly at some point right before that next checkpoint/save spot ;-)

Either way just stick with stock...you aren't going to have problems or anything. 0.012 voltage drop isn't worth anything heat/power wise!

again 1.013 is stock and all games and normal benchmarks such as 3dmark were stable with no artifacts at .963. I put it at .975 just to be safe and only running OCCT showed several errors at .975 and just 1 error at .988.
 
The voltage difference is so minor you might as well leave it at stock and save possible stability issues...you will not notice any measurable difference.
 
With my GTX 580 I was getting a couple of errors (2-3) with my oc when testing with OCCT, but in gaming (mostly BC2 and now BF3) with most settings maxed out I haven't had a single issue....just try it out for a few days with normal usage and see how it goes.
