Do you use a codec package, or install individually?

I use the KLite codec package and haven't had a need for a new one, but I'm always willing to try new ones if people have suggestions.

Most people agree that it is better to install individually... That said, when I re-did my main system a while back I installed the KLite package and have been pretty happy with it. No real problems.

I pick and choose codecs, so no packages for me.

Wanna tell us this magic recipe of yours? :D

I only run Divx and Xvid and I have problems sometimes playing stuff...

I use the KLite Codec Pack. Never had a problem playing anything. On top of that I also have installed Real Player and Quicktime. Nothing has ever had an issue playing.

I used once that KLite codec pack (the full one) and it crashed my explorer.exe every time i wanted to see a xvid encoded movie :(

Had to load my ghost backup to get everything working :(

The thing is ... the average person doesn't know what they need to get something working, mosin.
Look over that pack @ Defiler and tell me what you think.
I think it's pretty complete and nothing there is gonna hose somebodies box.
