Do you still need third party software to dual-wallpaper in Vista?

To spread the same wallpaper (extra wide!) across two monitors, rather than setting up wallpaper for monitor 1 and monitor 2, or cloning it.

In XP, I have to use Ultramon since Nvidia drivers don't seem to support that feature by default...

if your in span i belive for nvidia.. the wallpaper set to stretch should already go across both ?

Yes, but then games would span as well, and I think windows will default to spanning when you open them.

The easy way to do dual-wallpaper without third-party software is to make a background in Paint, and set Vista's wallpaper mode to tile.

For example, when I had dual 17" screens, I made a 2560x1024 bitmap with two 1280x1024 wallpapers next to each other.
