Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The reason your friend gave you that advice is because PCI-E available now, is the future of computing. PCI-E will not yield better performance than and AGP solution. At least not yet. If I were piecing together a new rig, PCI-E would be one my choices.
it goes more with ur mobo then with PCI-E vid cards, u want a mobo with PCI-E for future cards that will take advantage of it, cards out now dont take advantage of it, u will have to get a mobo with PCI-E (and therefore u will have to get a PCI-E card) if u want to upgrade ur vid card using the same mobo
....well, at least i think so......and a agp card now will have a really low resell price(if any) in the future
I guess...but for now I am skeptical of it. No games/or videocards can take full advantage of it right NOW. They will be in a couple of years. However, what is the point of buying a x800 XT PCI-Express and spending the extra money. In a couple of years they will have new motherboards, processors and everything... Your AMD 3500+/mobo/ and definately videocard will be out of the loop and you will have to upgrade anyway............
