im about to get a 320gb WD and plan on using it for everything (storage, os, apps ect ect)
how would yall partition out 320gb?

I thought that the drives mapped the first sectors to the outside of the platter, not the last. I could be wrong.LightningCrash said:it sucks. plus, with the partition at the end of the drive i get to put my swap file on the fastest part of the drive (the outer edge of the platters). i notice a difference anyway.

i am going to put a 2nd 160gb in my case though.. hopefully 2 samsungs will be cooler than a maxtor + samsung, like i had before..
i will probably try a 10gb scratch/pagefile on the 2nd hd when i do that..
in your case.. i would probably do at least 20gb for the OS/programs.. maybe more if you have some big programs..
i have worked with everything just there on a 160gb.. os/programs/data.. but reformatting was a bitch cause i had to back up the whole drive first..
