I loved it when I first tried it, unfortunately 3d gaming for any meaningful period of time gives me a screaming headache. So I would be a yes that became a no.

It is a fun gimmick, but seeing that depending on the game even motion blur can get me puking each 30mins i am not that interested, although i found it cool when testing Dragon Age: Origins and the like.

ive only seen it in person once at the hardocp amd gamexperience and then it was dragon age, which i didnt really think was a great game for 3d. sure it worked and looked kinda cool, but an fps would have been better imo. i will say that all of the graphical flaws were much more apparent with the 3d on and it actually felt less realistic to me. that may have been because settings were turned down to accomodate the 3d and the game was being played on about a 42" tv at 1080p so obviously thats not going to look as good when you are sitting up close to it.

overall im curious, but i really dont know enough about it at this point and i think the cost of entry of a little steep for what you get. also i wear glasses, right now i dont own any contacts. that means i have to wear the glasses over my glasses. i have to do this at the theater also, its really annoying.

I only like the 120hz monitors for the 2D smoothness while gaming. I can careless about 3D

Tooo bad there isn't an option for 'I will when 120Hz monitors become standard and the prices drop significantly'. I'm finding it hard to convince myself to want to spend $400.00 on a 3D 23" LCD 1080p when for the same $400.00 I can get 2-3 27" 1080p non-3d monitors and go for eyefinity/nVidia surround//more screen real estate.

If I could get 3D monitors for the same price give or take 20% as a standard monitor, I'd pay the extra 20% for 3D. I won't pay an extra 200% for 3D though. I hope monitors go the way of LCD tvs were 120Hz eventually becomes the standard and the older 60Hz tvs just disappear off the market after a few generations and 120Hz monitors assume the price of 60Hz monitors.

At that point, 3D gaming just requires the cost of the glasses and/or depending on the tech can be had for free via using 3D glasses via a movie theatre.

This is hard to answer so vaguely. Care in what way? Care as in interested in it? Or care as in willing to pay the current going costs for it?

I care about 3D gaming in the same way I care about multimonitor gaming, multi video cards, ambX, sandybridge-e and etc. They are all interesting luxuries. I also don't care about 3D gaming, just like I don't care about those other technologies, in that I don't feel compelled to spend the current asking premium for it and live with other tradeoffs.

3D is cool and all, but what about Eyefinity/nSurround? How does it play out?

It plays out WONDERFULLY with the right game and enough horsepower, multi-monitor and 3D are very complimentary. Batman Arkham City (and Arkham Asylum as well) are another level of beautiful and immersive in 3D Surround, like a Batman simulator.

No it's not for everyone nor does the effect work equally well in all games but I finding more and more games that work and work well with it, perhaps the best game of the year, Skyrim is 3D Vision Ready and while that's not my kind of game I've heard several people in these forums say 3D is awesome in Skyrim, and this isn't a forum with a lot of love for 3D, just look at the poll results.

But I'm on 3D to stay, it just adds visual beauty to games and the technology is progressing. I'll be upgrading to 3D Vision 2 shortly.

No, don't like wearing those glasses which can give you potential headaches, waste of money no thanks.

I don't have the monitor to even run it. If they make a 30 inch version of it in IPS I would take a look. But for now it's not even an option for me.

I'm kind of neutral so I'd rather not vote. But, I'd be interested as long as there aren't strains on your eyes or your brain. I mean as long as there are no weird health issues involved.

What the fuck is 3d? "I don't think these glasses work? It is supposed to make things pop out at you but I am still seeing things in what ever dimension we live in." If anyone can tell me what that is off of I will send you a free 3D tv for FREE!

Same here.

As long as I wear glasses, I can't do 3D anything-- movies or gaming. Headaches is the first issue. Nausea very rarely and dizziness dead last, but headaches tend to be the most common symptom I get when I try to do 3D.

So, don't really care about 3D gaming.

I'm in the "I care about it as an interesting technology to keep tabs on, but not as it's implimented now" camp.

I really want to try it out and would like to actually have a 120Hz 3D capable monitor. Just too expensive right now and I have an ATi card :bleh:

its a gimmick as far as I am concerned like things like kinect. Sadly it will probably get bigger tho.

I think gaming is the one application where I would actually care about 3D, however I'm not about to plunk down the amount of money required to do it right, and I refuse to do it poorly.

not in the least. i love gaming in 2d. i see no reason to double my gpu requirement for some gimmick that makes me wear stupid glasses and gives me headaches. plus for me it looks cartoony and less realistic than regular. (going off movies, havent gamed in 3d yet.) im interested in a 120hz monitor to get my framerate over 60, but i still dont want to relinquish my 30"er. :D

Just played an hour of Batman AC in 3D Surround. No gimmick, no headache, just shear visual beauty that feels so real and immersive.

You just have to try it for yourself. I would have missed out so much awesome gaming if I listened to most around here. If you don't like it then you don't like it but don't understand why some people seem upset that there those that enjoy 3D.

Yes, I absolutely love 3D Vision... gaming is much more fun, and more immersive. I hope more of the games will be done Batman way, when a game is coded with 3D in mind. Skyrim and AC:Revelations work damn fine too... tried to be Ezio without 3D and it's not the same, 2D now seems dull.

It can be pretty cool when it works right with the right game. I was able to pick up a brand new IZ3D (with glasses, non-shutter type) monitor last year on the egg for $127 delivered to my door. I was surprised how good 3D can be but the problem is it can also not be so great since some games just does not work and cutting out features starts to give less benefit for the psedo depth effect. Sometimes I feel like I am looking at dolls or in a doll house vice inside of some larger world. No problems with headaches, have gamed over 6 hours straight just fine.

I care about 3D, I just don't care about the stereoscopic trickery they describe as 3D :p

I don't have a hell of a lot of experience with 3D games, only played a bit of GT5 in 3D on a 3D TV, not yet on a PC monitor. But every form of stereoscopic 3D I've tried, it looks great when stationary but my eyes separate the images when things start to move, making everything disorientating and really not pleasant. I hope the 3D fad once again gets swept under the rug and stops posing a distraction.

If they made some good 2d games again i would love that. It should be a variety 3d and 2d. 2d usually has more gameplay :)

I've never tried a 3D game, but I'm gonna guess it's no different than movies. If you have something that's well crafted with 3D in mind, like Avatar, which I think I could watch all day and the only problem would be my contacts drying out, then it's great. But that was one movie out of how many that have been released in 3D (Not counting purely animated)? I haven't seen Hugo, so things may be looking up on that front.

Same with games. You'll get one or two every couple years that make you drool, but it's probably not really worth it at this point to spend money on the tech just out of hope. Not when you can get a larger, better looking monitor for less.

I don't use it for longer than 30 minutes at a time. But I do think it's interesting and I do like that most of the gaming monitors are going with smooth 120 Hz.

3D does seem much better with some games than with others. So I think it's down to the developers whether it's really worth it.

Really depends on the game but so far has been a great experience. I think alot of you haters are hung up on the old 3d implementations. A good quote, dont knock it till uve tried it. +1 yes

Since there are no IPS 120Hz consumer monitors, 3D gaming isn't even on my radar.

I agree with you, I couldn't abandon my beloved P-MVA monitor for a crappy TN 120Hz for the 3D effects, gotta love the pure whites and blacks of my monitor and not the yellowish whites and grayish blacks of current TN panels.
