ok, my internet connection pissed me off one too many times today.... seems like everytime i get pissed i pick up my mouse and slam it on my ratpad, well now i got a loose piece inside my mouse, and it no worky, hehe. so its time to buy a new mouse i guess. then i get out my backup and its a pos MS intellimouse, well that in conjunction with the internet connection again, pushed me to the point of breaking my backup! haha, i think i am gonna order an MX1000 so i learn to controll my temper a little. it was so much better back in the days of having a crt i could punch, but i aint punchin this 20" lcd, so im thinking ill go with the same theory with the mouse....

Any of you guys get pissed when u miss a kill, pc locks up, etc....? how do you take out your anger? or are you a saint and just calmly move on?

My bluetooth mouse ended up sliding off my desk a couple times as a vent for my anger. :(
Wireless mice, especially the mx1000 are so heavy that I picked up an mx510; cord locks to my pad so it never hits the floor, and its so smooth, light, and easy to move.
 
It would look cool in a modern art museum and be damn near useless on a computer desk
 
My Logitech Mouseman (ball PS/2) has taken quite the beating, but it's a tank. Havent broke it at all and it's been through a lot of quicksaves and cussing. :D
 
I beat the crap outta my Microsoft optical mouse. It prolly gets a good slam at least every other day....still works like new too :p

I had a nice logitech optical on my other pc until my 15month old decided to chew the wheel off it. :eek: :( kinda funny though.. :p
 
exactly and why vent your anger through beating up what can fix your problem...i don't beat up anything I buy its just stupid imo
 
I'd rather beat up my $20 mouse then any other expensive piece of hardware...I would never hit my case/monitor or speakers but I do occasionally slam my mouse down hard in a fit of anger
 
I used to slam my fist on my keyboard. I kept breaking off the tabs on the back that held the keyboard up. Then I'd have to take a trip to BB and grab one off the demo units. :eek:

I've since stopped doing that, too much work involved. :p
 
I used to do it with my old ball mouse when I was gaming.

One too many slams onto the desk popped out one of the rollers and I had to take the mouse apart to fix it.

The new heavier mice definitely help prevent this. They take a bit more force to get off the desk, and by then I'm usually back into the game.

Sooooo true man. Just the other day I lost it while playing CS and broke one off my MS wireless desktop elite. The demo models are my friend. :D
 
Ahh this thread really does hit home. Let's see where to start. I've destroyed 4 or 5 keyboards and 3 mice. I hit my keyboards so hard that keys go flying all over the room. In my old dorm room back in the day I found a few keys made it all the way into the bathroom...Dunno how that happened. Punched my 19 inch CRT quite a few times too. Slammed my joystick down. Broke like 3 of those. ROFLMAO. As you can see I have a bad temper. :)
 
This is why I'll never get a LCD. Because I smack the SHIT our of my CRT. I know it's not even its fault, but I can't bring myself to raise my hand against my 1500 baby. It's the whipping boy of my setup.
 
My mouse is a Kensington optical trackball that was ~$100 after tax and shipping. No, I'd never beat it, nor any other part of my system. If I were frustrated and wanted to smack something, I'd just hit the desk or whatever. :p
 
I don't hit my mouse. I keep a midget chained to the desk that I give a good whack to when I'm frustrated. Don't feel bad though, he likes it.

I have slammed on my mouse a few times and it took all the hits without a problem. However, my 1 yo son broke it by pulling the cord and me trying to avoid being dropped on ground (i know it is a stupid move :( ).

I break CD's. I have so many, and they give a very satisfying snap when they die. Cheaper than mice at any rate.
 
I'm a keyboard basher type guy and if that don't work I got a monkey that I put a spanking to. :eek: ;)

Ohhhhhhh, breaking CDs. My god why have I not thought of this before? But does it throw little peices of plastic across the room? Because I can't have any of that.
 
ok, I think I take the cake on this one

So I was working on a term paper one night, saved it, went to bed and woke up in the morning to work on it some more. What do I find out when I turn my computer on? My hard drive died. I lost twenty pages and about a month worth of work. :mad: I completely snapped. I threw the mouse out the window, well broke the window because of the mouse, and smashed the keyboard.

I eventually got the paper off the hd and ever since then I back everything up nightly. I can't afford to go through that again.
 
I use to buy the nice $100 keyboards. Then RTCW came out and all the fucking idiots pissing me off to no end ended all that. I got mad one day beat the crap out of my wireless keyboard cause the batteries ran out and beat the crap out of it. That was the last expensive kb I ever bought. Its all $1.99 walmart keyboards now. Unfortunatly this keyboards remains were not suitable for viewing or much less an autopsy. This one was by far the worst off of all the keyboards, I believe it got beaten over my desk enough times and with enough force that it broke my desk. But when it broke my desk I just got more pissed at it, so I put its crumbling remains over my nightstand about five times. In the process of me wacking it repetitively over my nightstand the metal backplane in the back of the keyboard popped out and gave me a nice gash on the palm of my hand. This keyboard took it to another level, and well, the keyboard was not very recognizable after that, it now resides in the local land fill. I still hate this keyboard with every fiber of my being, I will see it in Hell. By the way, this was a Logitech keyboard as well, identical to all the others, you will just have to trust me on that. I believe a royal screw job in Wolfenstein brought this keyboard to its demise. You all have had that experience I am sure where you put like 2 clips into a medics head and he turns around and caps you with a magical one bullet kill from a pistol. This is the result of such incidents.
 
i used to bang my old compaq oem mouse and it didnt work after that because my parents wouldnt buy me the new game called "test drive 5" back in 1998 :rolleyes:
 
I have beaten one sticky mouse to death (this was many years ago, before opticals) it would stick and stick and i lost my temper and smashed the shit out of it with my fist.

ive also smashed 2 keyboards over the years. they keys can fly everywhere!

the worst thing I did was when I was into CS heavy (before cheating killed it) I got SO mad one time, I picked up my chair (standard office/type chair) and slammed it into the ground hard enough for it to shatter into 10 pieces or so. I figured CS was making me too angry so I quit, LOL

now, if i get mad enough to want to break things, I turn the puter off and go do something outside or something, heh


 
Ive had a logitech iFeel Mouse for about 4 years now. I smash it every day repeatedly and still it works flawlessly. Its nice to be able to take out occasional anger on a $12 piece of plastic. :D

They usually break into 2-3 easy to recover pieces, never had one shatter into little splinter-like shards on me.

i find that a nice side-kick to the boxen next to me makes me feel better. i've yet to dent it tho...

i'll probably beat the crap out of Mother's old p1 90mhz when that finally dies... gawd i hate that comp, makes an abacus look fast half the time.
 
....old dead hardware (drives are the best), a remote hillside, and a .44 Magnum. Brute force PC hardware stress relief. As such, directed abuse against working hardware is easily avoided......:D
