do 'they' make CCFL cable splitters?

i currently have 2 12" UV CCFL's in my lian li.

they just dont seem to put out as much light as i would like.

I have a Zalman controller in the front of my case that has 4 knobs controlling 4 casefans and 2 switches...one switch controlling the 2 cold cathodes, and one controlling blue led casefeet i have.

I WANTED to buy an additional set of 12" CCFL's and hook them up to the same switch on the controller. is this possible? some sort of Y splitter cable to plug 2 ccfl's into and run that plug into the power inverter.

Anyone know of any sites selling these or if the are even made?

I think someone asked this question before if I'm not mistaken. So.. what you want is to have 4 cathodes on one inverter hooked up to a switch? If so, I haven't been able to find any 4 port inverters for cathodes. What you would want to do is just take apart 2 inverter boxes and make one slightly bigger box to house them in. Then just run one 12v line to them from the power switch.

never considered taking apart an inverter box. without ripping apart my computer now, how 'easy' would this be, and what kind of wiring would be required to do this?
 
Don't mess with the inverter. The amount of voltage through a CC or a CC transformer is way too much to mess with.

Now, what I think you should do is buy another IDENTICAL set of CCs as the ones you have, and put the two transformers in parallel through the fan controller. That way, you would get 2x the light on the same switch on your fan controller.

basically sums up what I just said. If you could find a fan Y splitter, then just use that and 2 light kits.

can you explain this?

what im reading is, is to just buy 2 of the same thing, and plug them both in to the same plug on the back of the controller?

from what i just read about on the Zalman ZM-MFC1 controller i have, and the toggle switches i would hook them up to:

A set of toggle switches controls the voltage to these two terminals (12V, off, 5V) and LED's chance colour from blue (5V) to red (12V) to indicate the different voltage selected.

Each of the channels will support a load of up to 7W which should take care of most fans you are likely to use.

that might do the trick. i havent messed around with my CCFLs lately, but i think thats the way i connected 2 of my inverters onto 1 channel @ one time or another. i like haveing them on diff. channels, so i can chose HOW bright the case is.

i wonder if that WOULD work....the only thing i readily see is the fact that the 3 pin splitter actually has 3 pins...while the CCFL's only have 2 ( PIN - SPACE - PIN )

wonder if that would make a difference
 
All you have to do is either do the inverter box trick by putting both in one small box and running one power cable to the switch, or keep them seperate boxes without opening them, but just splice the two power cables to the same switch. Either way, it will work. And lol @ too much voltage.. come on, you actually do this stuff while its plugged in..? And on top of that zomg 680v at 5.0mA. You could lick it with your tounge and just get a pretty nice shock to where you wouldn't want to do it again. I've been shocked by cathode inverters for PC's while they are on, its nothing bad at all. It feels about the equivalent of putting a 9v on your tounge, but on your fingertips.

my cathode power connectors are not the same size as those connectors and won't fit together. I tried with some spare cathode inverters and fan connector cables. I don't know what cathodes you guys have, but mine are just those generic ones you get from xoxide and stuff.
 
yeah, i doubt that fan splitter would work as the original connection needs to be different. i think i might just try the hookup with running 2 sets of CCFLS to the one switch and screwing them both down.

you would think that someone would make a 4 port inverter or something like that since there are all these crazy mods out there already. i just dont want to have to get another controller for 2 more additional lights when i have one that already controls them.
