Do these temps seem right?

When I run orthos on my water cooled rig the temp will max out around 50. When I run thermal analysis tool, my temp is get to around 57 degrees. This temps are according to Core temp v.95. Why do these temps differ so much when both program are loading the cpu 100%. Should my temps be lower? I have the following parts. It usualy idles around 29/30 degrees.

Swiftech apogee GT
Swiftech MCR220 radiator
Swiftech microres
Swiftech MCP655 pump.

I have my E6600 @ 3.6ghz with 1.4250 volts.

When I mixed the coolant, I got a gallon of distilled water and pored in 2 bottles of swiftech hydrx coolant and then filled my loop. Should I have mixed in more coolant. If I add more coolant to my loop, will it lower my temps?

It does seem a high if all you're cooling is the CPU, so yes they should be lower, as for the programs, they probably just put more stress on the CPU, thats normal. What thermal paste are you using?

Those temps are fairly normal for your setup. I don't think there's anything wrong with your temps.

Even though both progs load your cpu at 100%, TAT is known to work it harder, giving higher temps.

Adding more coolant will not lower your temps. Too much coolant will actually raise your temps.

Looks good to me. TAT always puts up something that roasts the cpu, doubtful if any app would do that. Orthos is pretty much the defacto max-stress app, so use that for determining max load temps IMO.

im using arctic silver 5 for the paste. Do you think my block isnt screwed on tight enough. The water block came with caped nuts so you can only screw the block down so far.

Everybody else is saying the temps are fine, so they are probably right, I won't argue as I'm not all that experienced with watercooling, as for the screws, it should be fine, I added 4 rubber washer thingies (1 on each screw, above the spring) to put more pressure on the CPU but it made little difference in temps.

agreed. thats perfectly normal, TAT stresses more, and coolant has much less specific heat then water does (water is more dense and can carry heat much more efficiently) so a mix with more coolant/less water is not a good thing. but its not a HUGE difference, only a few degrees. your setup is fine.
