They have started to sell alx systems.....BUT, there is one big difference with the ones seen at E3 and on benchmarks! :eek:
Tne one AW is selling HAS ONLY 1 PROC AND 1 VIDEO CARD! :eek:
they will not start to build the 2xvideo card/ 2x cpu ntil late september, and iit will certainly not be near 5 grand..... all the alx is right now is instead of the basic 80 gig harddrive, they provide 2x74 raptors, and an exos cheap ass watercooling system! :mad:
ITS NOT WORTH IT!! At least not while alienware sells it! :rolleyes:
 
Not to troll, but there's a reason we give people like you, who have not been around the fora for long, the "n00bie" moniker. We (probably) don't need the heads up about this, and we could figure it out for ourselves if we ever went to Alienware's site—and most of us probably never go there anyway.

Yeah pretty much everyone here knows that Alienwares dont make a very economic purchase. But thanks for the heads up .. I think =/

Some laugh. Everytime you look at anything Alienware, you lose a sock or a dollar. Try it.

alienware is _only_ good for their laptops. yes there are slightly lower price ones from like sager (sp?) but I think alienware is still a better solution for a serious gaming laptop because of their removeable and upgradable video 'card' system. and you don't even have to send it in to do it.

at any rate, Alienware = t3h los3. overpriced, and run way too hot. even compared to Sagers.

Or you can just build a laptop :) And I really don't think upgrading the video card makes it a reason to get one from Alienware. You have less customization than building one yourself, and it is a lot more expensive. And isn't upgradeable video cards on laptops going to become a standard eventually?

Where do you get that the run way to hot? My brother has one and it runs at 37c.

I got the xps...3yr complete care...all but fire and theft...covered....they did mention intentional damage "hammer marks"....umm..lol..ok.

not really a "laptop"...more of a desktop replacement :)

I take it to work,for my idle times,i'm usually working 50'+ high in the gantry..if I drop my bag on the way up/down,its good to knpw i'm covered.

wuxga display and upgradable m11 gpu were the main selling points for me.

dell desktop?...alienware...nevar

if you compare the "top-of-the-line" Alienware to the comparable Sager, the Alienware will run hotter.
