Do multiplier and bus speed really matter?

I am currently running my 980x at 27x157 stable. I am wondering if I lowered my multiplier and raised my bus speed would it really matter other than what my ram speed is? With this setup I am running my 1600 memory at 1570.2.

kind of depends. if you are able to up your bus speed to 200mhz, at the same or around the same core speed, it would give you a bump. but unless you obsess over superpi scores, its not like its going to make or break you. fsb (qpi) speeds have become less important than clock speed and uncore speed.
