Do I really Need to upgrade Yet?

I game on my Pc on my 32" LCDTV at 1280x720 (the picture looks perfect i might add!!) All the games i have run really smooth at my prefered gaming resolution above, for someone like me is it worth upgrading to the 7800gtx or the soon to be released R520? Will i notice a hell of a difference in quality or should i skip this generation of cards? Will newer games that are coming out going to cripple my Graphics card, the only game that i have heard thats going to be taxing is the half life 2 add on and another fps i cant remember the name of at present. Is it worth me buying a new shuttle for pci express, then buying a new graphics card, plus all the hassle and time of taking my old shuttle completely to peices and putting them into a new one and the ball ache of selling my old hardware?

if it runs everything you want at the res/quality that you want, then theres no need to upgrade. theres no point in upgrading now if your comp can handle everything you throw at it... upgrading for some game thats not even out yet is pointless as newer and better cards will be out between now and the time that game comes out.
 
Everyone is always on about smart shader 3 or something being far superior on the geforce 6 & 7 series and the r520 and making games look a lot better, i dont even know what it does lol!
 
I would say to keep what you have until you actually run in to a game that gives you problems. :)

Everyone was preaching all of this gloom and doom about halflife 2 and when it came out, its not too bad. You can run it without issues on a 9800 card.

So there is no point to planning ahead because only the software companies know what they will be doing in the future (sometimes :p ).

I've got a similar system to you and plan to upgrade around November or so. The only reason I am though is Oblivion is going to be out around then and is going to need a monster rig to run around 60fps, with most of the goodies on. Other than that there isn't much coming out that I know of that your system can't handle.
