Do I overclock cpu to get higher mem bandwidth?

I have a Gig of Corsair 3200XLPRO @ 2.2.2.5-1T and a Sandra memory bandwidth of 8884MB/s.

I changed the settings to 2.5.3.3.10-1T and got a score of 5534MB/sec. Do I have to overclock the CPU to increase the bandwidth score?

Or is there other memory to get higher bandwidth?

I take it you understand 2.5-3-3-10 is slower then 2-2-2-5, which is about the fastest timings available.
If you overclock your fsb (overclocking cpu) that will speed up the cpu, and the memory by the amount you overclock by. You would only increase the memory timings if you wanted to overclock your cpu to a faster setting then the memory can handle at its fastest timings.

Yes, I did understand that I would be slowing down the memory and that the overclocked cpu might be more stable if the timings were increased. I'm guessing there is a tradeoff, slower memory speeds for faster cpu speeds. Correct?

In order to get faster memory and higher cpu speed should I get faster memory?

Slower memory timings for more stable memory, I'd set the timings back to 2-2-2-5 and make sure the FSB to RAM ratio is 1:1 (100%). Then I'd slowly raise the FSB and test for stability while doing so. Since your FSB and RAM are a 1:1 ratio, raising the FSB will also raise the MHZ of the RAM, meaning more bandwidth.
 
I'm not very familiar with A-64 setups but from what I've read, AMD's don't really see any performance gain from memory running high/timings running slower. I think it has to do with the memory controller, where as Intel has it on the chipset, and Athlon's have it right on the die, A64's perform better with tighter timings.

BTW very nice rig, and FYI 8k plus on the bandwidth test is very good. I'm just breaking 6k with PC4000 at 3-4-4-8.
