Based on what I read in the ANSWERS sticky about warnings about SATA, do i need shielded internal SATA cables?

My SATA cables run close to my power cables in my case but I don't want to move them since its the best route I can think of. Would this be a problem?

It's an OCZ power supply if that makes any difference.

I've never heard of SATA cables needing shielding. You should be fine. Mine runs bare without any issues.

A better question is, are you having any problems with the way it is now?

No I haven't even setup the computer yet.

I'm setting up a RAID 5 system and also this is the first time I have an all SATA system.

So I read the sticky in this forum about the Warnings about SATA and it stated that SATA cables are not shielded and thus susceptible to data corruption if the cables are too close to power cables or tied up with other SATA cables.

Hence my question...

You can have problems in some cases, but it's pretty rare. I have a machine with 13 sata drives in it right now that doesn't have any problems with its unshielded cables. I wouldn't worry about it unless you get strange problems. Data corruption isn't likely to be an issue, but performance might be.
