Do I need a stronger PSU?

Hey guys just needed some advice from the pros. I just got a new rig and I switched over some of my parts from the old rig, which includes my Thermaltake 750W PSU. I've been getting a BSOD from time to time, but I haven't remembered to copy down the message. It looked similar to the message I got before - something about "physical memory dump...remove new hardware...etc". I later found out for that problem that it was my 500W Rosewill power supply.

I'm thinking that I 'm having the same insufficient power problem again since my new VGA and CPU should require more power than my older parts. I also tried out a PSU estimator to see if this was the case, and the results came out demanding only 3 more watts.

Would you guys recommend getting a 1000W PSU? Is it necessary or can I do something to make it work? Thanks in advance.

Attention: Dual or Quad Core CPUs are Single Processors. You need to change system type to single processor. ;) FWIW a quality (EarthWatts, Corsair VX/HX, Silverstone ST50-EFP, Enhance 5150) 450-500W psu would easily power your rig. Instead of starting with psu, I'd recommend that you stress your system with Memtest86+ & Orthos to see if they pass/fail.

Oh yes, you were right. Now it says it only needs 481W. I'll give those two diagnostic programs a try.
