I was thinking of going to the junk yard and getting parts to build my own watercooling system using an old heater core from an '86 Chevy Chevette. My question is: Do i need a reservoir? Would there be enough liquid in the loop and in the heater core so that i could go without one?

yup thats all you need :)

if you have space for it and can afford it, most get one. but if your budget can't let you then you can just use a T-line.

Honestly buy the Swiftech Micro Res, that thing is like only $20 and has more than enough mounting hardware to mount just about anywhere.

The unit is also quite small, makes life a lot easier when you're filling too :p

I won't ever build another watercooled rig without one.

Definately much easier to bleed, but then how often do you have to do that? I guess if you are a junky like me that could be often..
;)

why go to a wrecking yard when a new one from a parts store is cheap? and a lot less trouble.
