Ok so i keep having a problem with my system stability, i ran prime for a while and i can run the more memory intense test for 3 hours, i can run the more cpu intense test for 3 hours, and i even ran memtest86 for 2 hours. My system was stable though all that, but i crash after about 15 minutes of half life 2 game play.

So after a while i ran the high power consumption test on prime 95 and i get an error after 5 minutes. This leads me to believe that my psu is not keeping up. I have a Athlon xp @ 2.5ghz (200x12.5), three 120mm fans, two hard drives, two cdroms, a 9800 pro and a case light.

My rails read from MBM are:
12v: 11.55 to 11.61v
-12v: -12.35 to -12.44
5v: 4.80v to 4.84v
3.3v: 3.20 to 3.22

So what do you think should i get a new PSU? I was thinking about the Antec TruePower 550W.

All your rails look a little low..except for the -12V, which really doesn't get stressed anyways.

You can't really go wrong with Antec. And the 550 should handle anything you throw at it.

Id get the neopower 480 over the trupower 550

IMO its a much better PSU

if you have a generic PSU, it's a good idea to replace it just so the PSU isn't a concern. the Antec 550w is a very good psu and it'll easily run ur system. i have the coolermaster realpower 450w and it runs awesome. may consider it for a budget alternative.
