do i need a bigger power supply?

i have a microatx case that came with a 200w power supply. i also bought a 230w, thinking the 200w would be too little. originally i had the 230w hooked up, and my processor (2500+) was recognized at 1100mhz. after researching, i found that i needed the p4 power connector plugged in, which my 230w power supply didnt have. luckily the 200w one did, so ive been running that since i built my pc. it runs great, but i think im pushing it with only 200w. here are my specs:

-amd athlon xp 2500+ (not overclocked)
-1x512mb pc3200 crucial ram
-shuttle mn31n motherboard
-liteon 48x24x48x16 cd-rw/dvd-rom drive
-floppy drive
-wd 80gb 8mb cache harddrive
-radeon 9600 video card
-turtle beach santa cruz
-winfast tv tuner
-pci 802.11g wireless card

everything runs fine until i try to overclock. even raising the fsb by 1mhz causes the computer to not boot. originally i thought there was a jumper i didnt have set correctly on my motherboard, but the manual says nothing about fsb jumpers. could it be that the 200w power supply isnt giving the processor enough juice? if so, is there any way for me to use the 230w power supply that doesnt have the p4 connector? or am i shit out of luck?
 
they dont make micro atx power supplies that big, and if they did, i wouldnt have enough money to afford one. maybe ill just stay with the 200w, stable and unoverclocked.
 
Check to see if there are any substantial fluctuations in the voltage lines. Those can uncover a potential problem with your PSU...

What brand is your mATX PSU? Is it generic?

synoptism: yeah, its pretty generic. i dont have a problem with my psu, everything's stable, im just wondering if thats what's preventing me from overclocking.
