Do I need a 4650?

Ok my rig is in my sig. I don't do any gaming right now. But I'm going to play a few I never got around to. Morrowind and expansions (preferably with detail mods), Company of Heroes, Civ 4.

My onboard video is Radeon 4200. No clue what kind of memory it has. I don't mind spending the 57$ on a 4650 (which I've read reviews and says it's one of the best cheap GPUs) but will it make a difference? Or just in the detail mods for Morrowind?
Or should I consider something a tad better like the 4670, or 9600GT ?
And if I do get the 4650, should I go for the DDR2 version with 1GB, or the 512MB with DDR3?

TIA

The 4650 should do you good since you are gaming just mainly gaming those games, and IMO I'd go with the 512mb DDR3 version

On-board video like the 4200 is not meant for gaming and can't really handle it. Especially if you plan on running at 1080. If I were you I'd look for a used 8800/9800 card. If you're hardcore ATI look for a used 4830/4850, should be available for around $60/$80 respectively.

Ok thanks for the quick responses. I may look into a deal on a used one, or I may just be lazy and get the 4650 Jimi mentioned at newegg lol. Thanks again
