So This is my current setup:

EVGA P55 LE
i7-860 @ 4.011GHz
4 GIG of G Skill Ripjaws RAM
Lite on DvD re-write
CorsaIr H50
One 160 gig WD hard drive, One 200 gig Seagate
ATI Radeon 4850

And my PSU is an OCZ Stealth Stream 500

I wasn't planning on dumping a big graphics card in this rig but since I got a decent OC out of it, and a deent tax return (for once :D ) I am going to take the 4850 out of it and put in either a:

5970 or the new Fermi. My question is, am I going to have to get a new PSU, or will this one cut it, in your guys' professional opinions.

I think you're giving her all she's got.

You're fine with what you have now but if you're putting in a 5970 I would get at least a higher quality unit since that one is mediocre at best. Consider something like a Corsair HX520 as a template and get something similar or better.

I was going to shoot for a HX1000 for a bit of future proofing, but I guess I was just being dumb and seeing if I could cheep out.

Not a smart idea on my part....thanks!

If you're planning on upgrading the GPU, I would advise you to upgrade your PSU as well. As Mantra mentioned, that OCZ is a mediocre unit and OCZ PSUs in general are not the cream of the crop. For a single-GPU setup with a 5970, I'd suggestion:

Corsair 650HX/650TX, Corsair 750HX/750TX
Antec TruePower TP-650, Antec TruePower TP-750, Antec EarthWatts 650W
Seasonic X-650, Seasonic X-750
Seasonic M12 700W, Seasonic M12D 850W
