Well do they? If not is it possible to make one or mod another to look like it?

This is a great question!!
There are no true copper cases that i know of, but you can plate a case to look like copper, you can even plate aluminum. Check out google "copper plating" some chrome shops have this too and it is not as expensive as you might think.

they would probably weigh 80lbs...

u could always just paint one a copper color if u really wanted to.

yes. One was modded/made of copper. Others are frames made from copper plumbing pipe. None that I know of are production systems with copper panels, though.

plating would be the cheapest and most weight effective way of getting a copper case. It would need to be laquered to keep the copper from changing colors though.

I dunno, a green tarnished case would be kinda cool too...like the statue of liberty.

It'd be pretty much useless, a huge heat sink (literally trapping heat), and crush your table. Without airflow or a way to dissapate heat, Copper is horrible at dissapating heat to it's external environment while incredible at absorbing it. Aluminum is the opposite.

You want aluminum, not Copper. Heck, a steel case would be better than a Copper one. But if it's for looks or you plan to put a housefan or dunk it into a bath, then go right ahead.

Hmmm... watertight copper case that was fully submerged?... hmmm...

I hope you are joking.

Someone has made a copper custom case before but i didn't like it all that much.

It's totally possible as long as you clearcoat over it.

Man, there are all kinds of things you could do with patina like that. That's a hell of a good idea...although it probably wouldn't look quite that green, since the Statue of Liberty is bronze, and patina sets differently than it would on pure copper.

OOH OOH OOH

I think I remember something from chemistry :p

/grabs old chem binder

u can plate your case at home :)

crap i cant rember electorchemical cells

Well the thing your plating must be one electrode, and the other inert like carbon i think
damn crap, this is pissing me off now that I don't remember this stuff

well, all I can say is, it'd be fun to do yourself, all you need is copper nitrate or something damn I'm loosing my mind now
but you gotta make sure your surface is very clean first, like sand it good, use hcl to clean probly too , otherwise it wont stick very well and will rub off eventualy.

No I think he wants copper, besides, who says he won't have airflow? It's kinda a given.

Cold Dog (I believe) made a copper-plated case that I thought was beautiful, probably the same one that Qtip42 didn't like. Pics of it are likely available over at

.

Commercially available copper cases? Not so much.

Well if I was to copper plate a case it would ne my Lian Li PC-60 case which has lots of flo.

plating aluminum requires an extra step because aluminum oxidizes the second raw aluminum is exposed to air. Your lian li is already anodized and that has to be removed as well. You must zinc plate the raw aluminum first, then nickle/chrome plate on that. The zinc gets eaten away by the nickle bath and exposes raw aluminum in the solution so it cant oxidize instantly.

Jesus tap dancing Christ on a pogo stick! I can't believe there are still people out there that believe this crap. The only cases for which the material its made of matters for cooling are cases like this: http://www.zalmanusa.com/usa/product/view.asp?idx=64&code=020

And thermal resistance is thermal resistance. Materials by themselves do not "absorb" faster or slower than they dissapate.

I'll justforget abou the copper case. I'll think of a another way to make my case unique.
