DNS change, server effect?

I run a game server from my PC and I just recently changed my DNS to a much faster one.

Will this improve the playing experience of the players?

I doubt it unless the game does lots and lots of DNS lookups

A game would rarely use lookups. Maybe once when you start it to connect to the master game server. Most server browsers operate on IP addresses not hostnames.
 
Yeah, an actual dns lookup wouldn't occur that often. Often just one intial resolution and then your box would have everything in its local dns cache.
