DLT tape size question

I am trying to order some new tapes for these old Compaq 20/40GB DLT drives we have, but I am having a tough time figuring out what media to use.

Some media is marked 20/40, but much of it is marked "uncompressed 20, 35, 40GB; compressed 40, 70, 80GB." It is still Type IV, but I don't know if this will work in my older 20/40 drive.

I can't find any info on the HP/Compaq site about my drive and its acceptable media, so I am going to try here.

Examples:

http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=077698

http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=125884

Do these autodetect the proper size? Or will they not work at all?

I appreciate any help anyone can give me.
