Divinity: Original Sin is an upcoming single-player and cooperative multiplayer fantasy role-playing video game by Larian Studios. The game will ship with the editor that it was created with, allowing players to create their own single-player and multiplayer adventures, and publish them online.[3] The game was funded through Kickstarter and is a prequel to Divine Divinity.

Original Sin was expected to be released in October or November 2013,[5] but was delayed to 28 February, 2014.[6] The release date was subsequently delayed again until 20 June, 2014, and finally to 30 June, 2014. Current localisations are English, French, German, Polish and Russian; additional languages may be added.[7]
Originally Larian intended to release PC and Mac versions of the game simultaneously, and stated that once the Mac version was completed a Linux port would not be difficult. However, they eventually decided to delay the Mac and Linux versions to focus on gameplay; when those versions are released they will be free to anyone with the Windows version of the game.[8]
It later turned out that the Mac version would be available on the date of release. [9]
Larian wanted to do a turn based game before, but the publisher they were working with always withheld them from doing so.[10]

An early access reviewer:

I've played their previous 2 games- Divine Divinity and Divinity II Dragon Knight Saga and spent more time on them than I'd like to admit. This one also has coop, so if anyone's interested let me know.

I definitely want this game a lot. I loved 1 but didn't care for 2. Since they're going back to the best attributes, I'm looking forward to exploring everything in the game.

There aren't too many games nowadays that I look forward to, but this is one of them (along with BoI:Rebirth and some other kickstarted RPGs). I'll wait for some reviews before I pull the trigger, but I've really wanted a good old-school turn-based RPG for a while now. Preliminary word of mouth has seemed to be very good. Hoping it is.

the game comes out what, June 30? if you buy it now in EA, is it actually finished or can you not play the entire game until the release date?

Early access users can only play in one city and there's still a lot of stuff missing (e.g. quest markers, missions, dialogues, etc). We'll have to wait until release.

I was a part of the Kickstarter for this and have had the Early Access Alpha now Beta loaded constantly, but have hesitated to load it up and start anything until it's complete based on Larian's and other player's recommendations.

I waited for that exact reason. I want to play the completed version, not dip my toe into the unfinished work. An rpg is more of an experience than a repeatable game like league of legends. And as such, it's better if the first impressions are made when everything is in place.
