ok, i think i am gona get a 3500+ winnie and the OCZ EL Platinum Rev. 2 PC3200 RAM, i am planning to overclock this setup (in the future but i want to know now) and am wondering if i should get some PC4400 stuff to keep a 1:1 divider because when i overclock i want to get the cpu to 2.7ghz on air (seems possible from what i have read). will this RAM work good or should i get some PC4000 or 4400 RAM and which kind?

and for motherboard, i will be getting a SLI board, not sure which one yet (hence my other thread) and i am gona get a xp120 in the future if it will fit on the board.

geil ultra 4000.. the latencys listed on there are quite modest.. and it takes to voltage quite well.. my friend uses that memory on his fx-53.. he said you cant go past 230 mhtz fsb on air on a a64 or somthing like that

your friend is full of bs. ive seen many people go beyond 250 on air.

yeah, what he said^^^

Plus you dont HAVE to keep a 1:1 divider. Its not like the XPs that took a terrible performance hit if you dropped from 1:1. Its preffered still but going 6:5 or others wont kill you.

i know, but i have about ~$260 to spend on a gig of RAM and i can manage a 1:1 divider. i was thinking of G.Skill TCCD since obviously all their ram has TCCD chips and they sell them in higher then pc3200 speeds.......i basically just want to overclock the cpu for more speed when i need it and i herd u have to oc the RAM at the same time so i might as well get ram that can go that high....and i saw the OCZ EL plat rev 2 stuff oc very high but with the new sli boards, i dont think the first batch is gonna oc so well
