Didn't post in AMD or Intel Forums cause I wanted a nuetrual opinion. Im on a 2500+ at 2.3GHz (200MHz Bus) w/ 2X256 PC3200. Its time for an upgrade.

Im thinking Intel for the first time in awhile. I dont want to go A64 just cause Im not impressed with the current mobos.

Now i know jack all about good OC Intel CPUs as I havent bought one in years. Im thinking the 2.8C or 3.0C. Which clocks better?

Board and memory I'll manage with. Just not sure on the great OC's Intel CPU's.

Cheers

IMO, I would wait for PCI express and the new A64 903(i think thats it) pin processor to come out, and re-evaluate AMD. Late spring, I belive...

Wait for the new A64's to come out, not to get one, but because stuff for the ones out now will be increased.

also what dont you like about the boards out now? they have the same features as any P4 board, if not more. the only thing they dont have is super duper OCing abilities, and thats the fault of a new processor.

I would wait. Anything you're doing now, that 2.3 Ghz Barton can handle until the new A64s come out. But if you're really itching to upgrade, just go with a 2.4C. I've never talked to someone who couldn't get their 2.4C past 3 Ghz. Most people get them up to 3.2 at least. But if you want the ultimate OC, go with the 3.2C. My friend has his clocked to 3.6 stable as can be.

Yeah, I'd wait at least until the new A64's come out, and compare those to Intel's crop at the time. Having PCI Express would be nice...
