Would you guys ditch a top of the line Creative X-Fi Platinum w/64mb ram (I think it's still the flagship card from Creative) for the new Xonar D2X?

Here's the creative card I run:

My OS is Vista 64, and I know there are a lot of complaints about the Creative card and Vista 32 as well as 64. I thought most of these had been solved by driver releases, and to be honest I haven't had a ton of problems with the Creative card. However, I occasionally do get BSODs for random reasons, and it's nearly impossible to tell which piece of hardware, software driver, etc causes them.

Bottom line, for a Vista 64 gamer who occasionally listens to music, and in the future plans to connect his PC to a large LCD TV for DVD watching, is the card swap worth it?

Thanks

For the use you've described, I would stick with the X-FI. Unless you're going to hook the computer up to a 5.1 or higher home theater system in addition to the LCD TV.

I upgraded from an X-FI to a Xonar D2 in my Vista 64 box a while back, but I tend to watch movies for than game these days and for that, the Xonar is clearly superior. For gaming, the Xonar still sounds good, but my X-FI was clearly better.

Both company's drivers have their own set of issues.
