I want to run a display port to hdmi cable from my PC in my office to my HDTV in my basement. Only problem is that those cables come in small lengths, like 15 or 25 or 35 feet. I need about 50 feet.

Anyone know any good displayport to HDMI cables on Amazon that are 50 feet? I couldn't find one.

Do I need a passive or active cable?

Also, can I just buy a displayport to displayport cable and buy a HDMI/displayport adapter?

At that distance I would use an HDMI over Ethernet extender. The twisted pair cabling of Ethernet works wonders keeping things at high speed, keeping signal noise out, all while doing it over great distances.

If possible, I would also eliminate the displayport from the equation too and just do HDMI at both ends.
