Displayport issue in XP

Hi everyone.

I recently bought a new Dell laptop (Precision M4400) that came equipped with a displayport connection and a VGA connection. After buying the laptop i was pretty dissapointed with the screen on it and called Dell to say i was going to send it back or they should give me a good deal in the 2709w monitor, which they did.

Thing is now that in XP it looks like the laptop loses the connection with the monitor all the time when hooked up through displayport. Screen goes black for 2sec. then image comews back and the displayport symbol is displayed. There's also weird shifts happening all time like an electrical disturbance or something. I only have this problem in XP, in Vista all is working fine. I can't really find anything on this problem anywhere, am i the only one with this issue and/or does anyoner have suggestions how to fix this?

I've already tried this with two different laptops (same model though) and both had the same problem
