Has anyone tried more than a few of these? Will anything over 10' work with a Gsync monitor? How about older cables from 2012 are they all the same standard? I read that the Displayport on the monitor changes but the cable is the same?
Would any Displayport cable work on a High Refresh monitor ?

I have a few I bought

A Cable Basics cable matters which is fine with my monitor now but wonder if I could get a 10' Blue Rigger cable and see how that would turn out.

What is the importance of having a lock (where you need to push it in) on the cables? Does the cable become loose or something?

I picked up a 10' accell cable they say shorter is the better but people were not having problems with the 10' version using a swift or a Dell Gsync monitor.

Just realize that if you run into any display artifacts that it is probably because of the cable, not the video card or monitor. I fully agree with the Reddit post above: go with a 1m/3.3ft cable if you can, but go no longer than 2m/6.6ft to ensure best signal quality.
 
I just want a longer cable I get flickering at boot up but that could be anything.

It's all a matter of wire thickness. Typical 3 foot cable is 32 gauge, which is why it's really not that good past 5-6 feet. I'm running a 25 foot cable and have no problems with 144 Hz/1440p due to using a much thicker cable (24 gauge).

I canceled the order for the 10' foot accell cable bought a 6.6 foot from a 3rd party accell on Amazon to avoid shipping costs.

I just emailed Blue Rigger which has like zero reviews on Amazon on their display port cables has lots of reviews for HDMI cables make excellent HDMI cable I'm using one now that was shipped on Sunday picked up on ebay.
the picture quality with the Blue Rigger HDMI is rock solid easy to focus on the screen.

I was having problems with my MSI Founders editon card since I wasn't using DVI anymore just HDMI and the adapter included wasn't cutting it.

So I'm trying out different cables

You might want to stay away from Cable Mattes I picked up a cable two years ago tried it and well the picture was OK but I got some Horizontal lines on bootup one time so I'm not using that any more.

I looked up Vera and they don't list many cables on their website a few generic ones and accel I think you have to pay them to be included on the website.

Finally got a pair of Accell cables in the mail compared to the stock Dell cables these are so much better the monitor feels like a CRT virtually no eyestrain.
Accell cables are way better than my Asus Swift cable and Cable Matters cables. These just feel real nice to use your eyes will Thank you as long as you have the current Nvidia drivers that
were released yesterday they must of had some conflicts with the Creator's Update Nvidia did and releasing 1080ti cards at the same time they ironed out the bugs.

Just played Metro Last Light for about 45 minutes zero eyestrain w/ the game must be the cable.


Don't buy a Blue Rigger displayport cable they don't work at 144hz I think they work at 60hz got a dead blank screen with the cable.
