Display wont wake up from sleep

I can't figure out why but my system wakes up from sleep/hibernate mode just fine, but the monitor wont turn on.

I'm on a ati 7970 w/ the dell u3011. Does anyone else have this problem?

Are you using display port?

I had that issue with my 6970's and 7970 on my U2412m. Something about hibernation causes it. I turned off hibernation and the issue went away. I still let the display turn off after 10 min.

I used to have to either unplug the displayport cable and reattach it, or unplug power to the monitor and reattach it.

I have this issue as well on m Thinkpad T440p..

What's the rest of your setup?

I'm having issues using mDP -> DVI (Apple adapter) in Windows 8.1 Pro; using the Intel HD4600 to output.. which might be the issue as well.

Also tried mDP -> HDMI adapter and cable, which doesn't have issues.

What's the exact behavior? Does the system crash/hang? Or does it come back if you re-attach the monitor? Are you running dual/triple displays?

I'm still trying to solve this..

I'm just using a DVI cable. I updated the drivers and that seems to have solve the issue.
