display video on second display

Hey kids

I'm having probs display some types of video on my secondary display. I'm running an X800 XL with a 20-inch HP LCD as primary on the DVI port and a sony 19-inch lcd on the VGA port. I'm running extended desktop. Now with dedicated vido players like PowerDVD and WIndows Media player, there's no problem. I can move thee window from display to display and the video plays fine. But with streamed video that is played back in a browser window (using both realplayer and WMP plugins) I can only view it on the primary display, its just a black box if I move the window to the secondary display. It bugs the hell out of me cos i want to have the streaming video playing on my secondary monitor while I browse on my main monitor :( Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

How do you turn off the overlay when running realplayer or media player as a browser plugin rather than a stand alone application? Also, note that applications such as PowerDVD using the overlay render fine on both displays, which makes me think that it's not an overlay issue, though I might be wrong.

I can't really help you if you use it as a browser plugin. I do know if you have video overlay on it can cause problems with displaying on a scondary monitor.

I managed to find an option in the media player plugin to switch off the overlay and it is working fine now, w00t.

Thanks mate

Kind of similar problem...

I used to be able to watch video on my 2nd display (XGA projector, 1024x768) with Power DVD or WMP. My 1st dispaly is a LCD (1024x768) and my Nvidia nView Display setting is Clone.

Now, my 1st display has changed to the 20" Apple LCD (1680x1050) and every other settings remain the same. I can see the video as usual in the 1st display but not on the 2nd display. Desktop and all other applications are ok and shown on both displays but just the video is totally black on the 2nd display!??

Have I missed out some settings, or is the 2 different resolution on my 2 display causing the problem? I can't "Clone" the 1680x1050 resolution on my 2nd display, is that an issue?

Thanks.
