Display Mount

Hey folks, Long time lurker here. My next purchase will be a qnix 1440p monitor and I would like to try and get my monitors up off my desk in the mean time.

Currently I own a 23in (i believe) Asus widescreen and a 27in Samsung TV being used as my main screen. I am in need of a stand to hold at least two of the 27in qnix monitors for future upgrades.

I have found this Stand that would work, but I dont know how well that would work with my Ikea Galant corner desk. I would need to sandwich a 2x4 for a bit more material to clamp on to.

I like the concept of using This mount and putting it in the corner portion of my desk to have my monitors a little farther back. With the 1440p Qnix I am looking to acquire by the end of the year, pushing the monitors back another 6 inches or so won't hurt anything.

So I come here asking for some suggestions, advice, what products have worked for you in a similar situation. I understand ergotron is a recommended brand, and I have looked into their products, but I am trying to give myself a little upgrade without breaking the bank and spending the price of another monitor on just a mount itself .

So thanks for any input in advance, and sorry if this seems long winded but I am just trying to plan ahead instead of impulse buying. Thanks!:p

This is a rebranded ergotron LX and works very well:

It is a bit more expensive than what you were looking at, but it's very nice, cheaper than the ergotron and you have a lot of flexibility. Only downside is you'd need two. But I have them and I really like them.

I appreciate the suggestion DrinkTea! One of the reviewers stated that the arm you listed only has a capacity of ~20lbs, would you say that is accurate? Anyone have any idea how much the 27in Qnix monitor weighs? I would hate to have to keep re-positioning the arm because of weight.

Edit: Amazon lists the Qnix monitor at slightly over 13 lbs.

It could probably do slightly more than 20 if you really wanted to, but I'd keep it under. I have a 2713HM on it now. It's perfectly fine. I think any recent 27 inch monitor should be fine - especially one with LED backlighting.
