I just recently bought a 20" widescreen dell. My resolution is 1680x1050. When viewing dark background websites. My desktop bleeds through. I am using windows xp pro, firefox and a allysa milano desktop from skin.be. My graphics card is a nvida 7800 gtx

Make sure your monitor is set to turn itself off after 10 minutes or so of inactivity. LCDs will get temporary burn-in if they are displaying the same screen for long periods of time.
