Hi,

Been looking into a new TV for my family's new home theatre. We don't spend too much time in front of the tv, but we need something future-proofish that will last for another 8 years. So obviously HDTV, most likely 1080p. We use our current TV for mostly movies, video games, and a little TV.

I've been looking at the Westing-House LVM-42w2.

The price is probably the most my family can afford right now but I was wondering if anyone had any low cost suggestions for a tv with the following:

1920 x 1080 support for all incoming connections (HDMI, DVI, etc)
1+ HDMI with hdcp. Two would be better.
1-2 DVI with hdcp
Component input(s)
at least one composite
1 VGA
RCA inputs and outputs

We just need something that works with a decent picture. We have a PS3, Xbox360, Nintendo Wii, and a few last gen consoles. As long as the PS3, Xbox360, and the Wii will work, along with a dvd player, we are set.

Any Suggestions, help, comments?

Thanks in advance!

Let me get this right. You want an inexpensive TV and future proof for EIGHT years?

So tell me what the consoles will require in 4 years? Then I can help

Well yeah it'll last you for 8 yrs but it won't be 'future-proof' because theres gonna be like 1440p, like those wierd new viewsonic monitors, ect. So it'll be future proof for probaly like 1 yr or 2 yrs because theres gonna be some sorta new resolution or something. So just get the Westy and be happy.

Well, obviously not top of the line for eight years, but something that I won't have to replace to watch HD programming. From what I understand, they aren't even running 1080p right now. The PS3 and the Xbox360 max out at 1080p, same with hd-dvd and blu-ray. I just wish the westy had more HDMIs.
