Hello everyone,
If this is the wrong forum, I apologize, please move the thread. I think it is the best forum for this issue.

R: Randomly it seems IO just stops. The machine gets insanely sluggish, new apps won't start or will start VERY slow but some (not all) existing apps will keep working ok. Bringing up computer or task manager takes minutes, rebooting fixes the issue right away, sometimes just waiting it out fixes it) Windows was reinstalled to no avail.
I built a system a few months ago for gaming and also as a workstation for work.
Let's start with the specs, I will list everything just in case someone spots something:
Board: Asus Rampage IV Extreme (latest firmware and optimal defaults loaded, only thing changed is boot order)
CPU: Intel 3930K (not overclocked at this time)
CPU Cooling: H100i from Corsair, paired with a pair of Noctua fans (33C average core temp in my fairly cool office)
Video: 2x EVGA 680 Classifieds in SLI
Disks: 2x Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
Disk Setup: Raid 0 (I have backups) using onboard Intel chipset
Case: Antec P280 with 1x Noctua fan at back and 2x Noctua fans at front, front fans blowing cool air in, top fans and rear fan blowing hot air out)
PSU: Seasonic 1000 watt platinum
Optical Drive: Generic DVD read/write
Windows 7 Enterprise
The problem shows up when installing software sometimes. The software will start installing and just stop and everything slows down to a crawl, It takes forever to access things like windows explorer or task manager. If I cancel the install sometimes the problem corrects itself and trying again the software installs really fast and is fine.
Other times the problem shows up at random, I will be sitting here surfing the web just before bed and suddenly it becomes problematic.
Rebooting fixes the issue every time.
I have reinstalled windows and I was very careful updating drivers.
All firmware, drivers, and software updates have been done. This problem happens right off the bat after a clean install.
Probably worth mentioning this as it may be related. On reboot upon logging into windows the computer "hangs" just after the desktop appears for 2-3 minutes and suddenly everything loads up and all is well. This happens every time.
Sorry for the long post but I wanted to try and include as much as I could.
The only thing I can think of is the Samsung's not liking being in Raid.
I finally dug out a 64GB SSD drive and I am going to unplug the 2x samsungs and just plug the 64GB in and install windows and see if it is fine or has the same symptons.
Thank you very much for any help. This is pretty frustrating!
