recently tried to upgrade from a 120G IDE HD to a 250G SATA2 HD. Used drivewizard to clone to old one to the new 250G but when it boots, it freezes on the welcome screen where u are supposed to type the username password....

well, it doesnt really freezes, since it allows me to move teh mouse all around teh screeen.....

tried F8 to boot it on safe mode and maybe remove teh pw, but that didnt work either....


my motherboard is a gigabyte ga-81pe1000. it does supposrt sata1 HD's, and yes i set teh drive to operate on SATA1 only, instead of sata2 but i dont know what i did wrong.......

any help would be greatly appreciated guys.

well, i didnt want to install everythig else for once, ....i did tried a clean isntall though after i got tired of messing with it, problem with that is that file name "oembios.bin" wont isntall on it when clean intsalling windows xp pro. i tried skipping the file and it installe, but xp gives me error for registraion or something liek that
