Alright, so i have an Buffalo 250 GB External Hard Drive.

And just all of a sudden, it stopped working.. i got the the message in windows "disk not formatted, would you like to do it now" However, the disk is full and used as a disc storage for music etc..

Ive tried reading files with Partition Magic and Paragon Partition manager.

I have also runned chkdsk /f /r l: but it stopped at the 4/5 step.

I have runned an check for physical errors with Easy Recovery with no errors. But still it seems that none of the programs are able to read its content.

So, what do you recommend me doing now ?

If I were you I'd try GetDataBack or other data recovery programs. If that doesn't work, I'd remove the drive from the case and connect it directly to your MB. Then try the programs again. If that doesn't work, it's time for a professional recovery service.

Good Luck!

Thanks.. trying that now.. it seems to read data, that must be a good sign, right ?

That's not a good sign, that's a GREAT sign! I imagine that by now, you've realized that you hafta actually buy that before it does any recovery?
