Disk management question

you can change how they are connected disk c:to sata1 d: to sata2 ect and change priorities in BIOS disk c: boot first

Can't you just right click on the drive/partition and change the path and drive letter designation?

Is this some sort of OCD thing? There is really no benefit to having the drives in any particular order in the disk management window, and it's not like you have so many drives that it would make it easier to keep track.

You can change the drive letter, but you can't change the physical connection to the disk controller without moving cables.

Drive letters are only associated within the OS, they don't exist outside. They labeled with ID's (ie, 0, 1, 2 etc.). As the above posters said this can only be achieved with moving cables around. However if you do this, you'll have to change your boot order if it was specified as a specific disk to boot to.

Sounds like a PITA that really isn't worth it just for different orders.
