Disk errors in system event viewer

So, I checked the event viewer - system in Win XP. I noticed I have sometimes gotten a string of disk and maybe one atapi or ftdisk errors. Microsoft suggests this means something is wrong with the cable. I can accept that, I could even replace it. But could this be because of interference from the power cables? I'm using an Antec P180, and I've crammed the cables together since there's not a lot of space.

I haven't noticed anything particularly wrong besides of this, I was just mucking around because my rig hardlocked over the night and I don't know why.
 
Change the cable. Cheap and quick fix if it works.
Run manufacturer diagnostics on your HDD.
Check power supply with a multimeter (+5 and +12).
 
It's not a quick fix given the cramped hdd compartment in this case, but I'll take your advice. :)
