"DISK BOOT FAILURE" when installing my first SATA HD

Ok, so I've finally decided I needed to upgrade from my old IDE hard drive, so I bought this HD from newegg:

and this cable to go with it:

This is my motherboard:

I plugged the SATA cable I got into the HD, and inserted the other end of the cable into one the SATA ports on my mobo and the power connector into another open power line. I try and boot up, and I get this "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER." I know there's nothing wrong with my actual OS CDs, since I'd just used them earlier. I've never had any issues with installing IDE drives before, and I've never done this, so can anyone look at my hardware links and tell me if something doesn't mesh, or if I'm not installing it correctly or what . The SATA Controller is enabled in my BIOS, and the only other option I have is SATA Type, which is currently set to Native IDE (other options being RAID, Legacy IDE, and SATA ->AHCI). I even tried using the SATA cable that came with my motherboard, so the cables aren't an issue.

Sounds like you need to change the boot order to boot from cd before your hard drive.

Disconnect the hard drive and see if it boots from the CD.

If it does, it is a boot order issue.

If not, let us know and we can give more help.

That was the ticket! Before I had installed the SATA drive, I was using a single IDE cable that ran from my mobo to my DVD Drive to my Hard drive, and all I did was unplug the HD and install the new one without thinking about it. I uplugged the IDE cable from the DVD Drive and plugged in the connector that used to be in the old HD and it booted right up.

In the furture if you do anything with IDE don't put the optical drive on the same channel as the boot hard drive. It can slow down the transfer rates some.

With sata this is a non-issue as each port only does 1 drive(unless you use a port multipler). With sata though if you use a sata optical drive the sata settings for the controller need to be AHCI or IDE. If you have it setup for a raid it will not generaly take an optical drive.
