My main rig's mobo was destroyed. I was stupid and had it shipped with the hard drive cage still in ( I took out the RAM and cards and everything), and when UPS dropped it off, the cage had come undone. It split my AGP slot in two, and broke off a few transistors. So now I'm without a rig. I was looking to upgrade to a shuttle soon anyways, so I guess it could be worse. Although now I can't sale my mobo :-\

Here are the parts that I have that I would like to use in my shuttle. P4 2.4c, Radeon 9700 Pro, and Twin Corsair Low Latency 512 sticks. I'll also have the hard drive and what not, so basically I have everything. I just need a shuttle with a power supply and a mobo.

What shuttle would work well with the parts that I already have? I do a lot of graphics, and I play a lot of games - mostly WoW.

Pretty much any Socket 478 Shuttle will work just fine. I'd recommend going with an 865 or 875 chipset but that's purely personal preference.

Glad to see someone else addicted to World of Crackcraft.

Sorry to hear that. Did you insure your computer?

Yes, my computer was insured, but someone told me they don't cover "internal dammages" . The case was well protected, and it was put into a large box with plenty of popcorn and what not....I called them up and I have someone coming to investigate it at the end of the week. I'm not sure if I should put it back together and act like I'm computer illiterate or not  I figure if I act like I'm computer illiterate, I can just say it's broken. When you open it, though, you see a lot of scratches on the inside from the hard drive cage thrashing around. It broke off some transistors, split my AGP slot, and bent a few of my cards. Kinda nervous now that I have someone coming to inspect it :-\

Also - sorry I didn't mention it, but I'm looking for a black shuttle. That one seems nice, but the on board graphics would just be something I wouldn't ever use. How would this one work? It has dual channel ram, and what not. Only down side I see it the lesser power supply. Is the audio decent? I would only be using head phones anyways.

That one should work as well. I just picked the other one because of the power supply and less cables inside. I've built a SN45GV2 that has all the white cables going through the case and this SK83G with the new front panel connector - I love the new connector, much less clutter.
