Disappointing 3DMark03 scores

I've recently purchased a new, inexpensive system with money that I made over Christmas.

-Soyo Dragon KT600 Plus v 1.0
-Kingston 512 mb PC2100 Ram
-Geforce 5700 LE 256mb
-Sempron 2300+
-450 watt psu

I ran 3DMark03 at 1024 * 768, no Pixel Processing, Texture Filtering at optimal, Anisotropy at 4, Vertex Shaders at optimal, and Fixed Framerate off.

First Demo: Average FPS was around 60.

Second Demo: Average FPS was about 15.

Third Demo: Average FPS was no more than 5.

I'm kinda disappointed with these scores. I was hoping to be able to play HL2 at decent settings and get a decent framerate. Now I'm unsure. I wanna push my vid card, cpu, and ram as far as they can go without ruining them.

What can I expect to oc out of my Sempron 2300+?

What timings would you suggest for the ram?

Any advice you can put forth would be appreciated.

Yikes. Did you read the whole post? They aren't identical. They pose identical information with different questions.

This is an example of those who don't read the whole post. They make fools of themselves by making accusations that are clearly not the case. This is blatently obvious to those of us with the ability to read entire paragraphs.

Dont get all pissy on someone about that. I too along with probably 90% of the people who see the threads will think they are the same. If nothing else the titles give it away. Last but not least... he has been here far far far longer than you so show a little respect

You bought junk hardware and wonder why it performs poorly?

These questions answer themselves if you look around a bit.

The Sempron will probably get above 2 GHz, unless they've changed something horribly from the last line of SocketA CPU's.

The RAM timings are an utter no-brainer; as tight as you can as high as you can.

Advice: Get PC3200 and a real video card. Overclock the CPU as high as you can. Stop disrespecting your elders.

I understand that there are tell tale signs of Identical posts.

It's frustrating to see your questions unanswered because someone didn't take the time to correctly read the entire post. I don't care for 90% of the people that follow that process. I don't show respect based on length of membership in a forum; I respect others based on wisdom, willingness to learn, and respect shown towards myself. He has shown a lack of each. He may showcase an abundance of each consistently in this forum; but his first impression on me is no more than a person whose goal is to harass others.

I feel that this argument has fulfilled it's purpose. I would like tor eturn to the original subject of the thread.

On another note: I'm aware these questions can be answered via research. I prefer direct person to person advice given by those who are highly experienced and knowledgeable in the subject of overclocking. Overclocker's who understand my personal needs as well as the specific hardware being used (IMO) can give far greater advice than any research could provide.

Secondly, I don't classify those with more time in the forum as I, elders. I will show equal respect to that that is shown in return. Otherwise, I don't feel that it is necessary.

tighten your timings and raise your fsb. use memtest86 and run that for a few hours to test to see if the ram is stable. if the ram is stable then test to see if the cpu is stable.

Each post is different, placed in seperate areas in Hardforum.com. Each one relates directly to the subject of that forum. Hence overclocking questions are in the overclocking section, cpu questions are in the AMD processor section, and vid card questions are in the vid card forum. To put them all in one thread seemed unnecessary. I doubt this makes me a "post whore." I wanted to utilize the hardforum to it's fullest. I felt these means would yield the best results. Maybe I was wrong.

Please, I would like to return to the subject of the last completely pertinent post.

I dont ask for respect because ive been here longer...in fact I didnot ask for respect from you for any reason. I made a simple observation, based on how the forums are run and what mods looks for. I was trying to save you a short snapping from the mods, by making a suggestion, and instead you got snippy. Very classy.

I read your 2 posts (i missed the 3rd one) and they are *nearly* indentical. You could have easily made one thread, asked the questions (which are all related) BTW. You made a judegment call...and messed up. Its cool, your a n00b here. Thats why I politely made a suggestion, as did others. Ignore them as you see fit. I would also *suggest* that when a mod comes and makes a suggestion, that you NOT get so snippy with them.

Im not sure who pissed in your cheerios, but I strongly encourage you to stop being such an ass in ANY of your threads, because people are more likely to help you when your polite.

You portray yourself off very kindly here. Remember you were wrong to classify my thread as a duplicate. Classy? If you feel the need to comment on my actions it's your call. It makes you no better than me. Granted it's your decision not mine. The reality was, you implied for the mods to move the thread, due to "thread duplication". Which was not the case at all, I believe you could gather that for yourself, correct? Not only did this cause a distraction from the real subject, but it's known as a thread killer. I had every right to be agitated. Can you explain to me how this would save me a "short snapping" from the mods? A mod would correctly read the post and then take a course of action based on facts. Am I wrong? So would a mod "snap" me based on somewhat false accusations?

I used three seperate threads so I could isolate each answer. Sometimes posters don't have knowledge of every subject the questions refer to and will only answer the questions that they know the answer to. I wanted to avoid this. I decided putting each thread in it's own forum would maximize the usage of the hardforum as I already stated. I was correct. I got the answers. Could you point me in the direction where I messed up? Apparently I'm a "noob" here as you said. I was under the impression we were at a mature level of discussion and argument. Potentially ruining a thread, IMO isn't "politely suggesting". You didnt ruin the thread, the threads did serve their purpose, but to put my thread at risk, isn't polite. In either case I chose to disregard your comments and some of the other posters did the same.

If your referring to the thread where a poster posted a suggestion that didn't pertain to my original post. Yes, he did something quiet similar to what you did. I treated that incident with the same action. I believe the word for what he did was "thread hijacking." Yes, it is an extreme accusation, and I don't think that my thread was hijacked but posts such as his trigger an avalanche of posts with answers that are in no way relevant. If you are referring to the WOW thread; I was somewhat angered to see a poster who took a week off work to play WOW for 20 hrs a day, call another poster pathetic because he played Everquest. I felt the need to say something. I did. If you see this as being an ass. Than, I don't see much hope for you defending others when they're incorrectly accused or harassed. I believe that this isn't entirely the way you feel. Again, knowledge of this would've been in your possession had you read the whole post or even just my posts.

Thank you for your opinions. Some I feel are wrong. However, I will have to look at my own character and determine wether I need to be kinder with others.
