Hey guys,

had a quick question here. My SFF currently has only one HD, a SATA 400gb seagate, and I was reading this little manual in cluded with the barebone SFF. Basically it offers something like 4 options, such as raid0, 1, 0+1 and something else. The deal is that I don't have two HDD, so I guess that rules out any sort of raid.

I don't really want any special setting for my HDD, the standard speed doesn't really matter as much as the safety of data, so I'd like to avoid having any form of RAID. Is that possible? Does the default bios setup of the SFF have raid turned off, so that one has to turn it on manually, or do I have to turn it off somewhere?

If you only have 1 drive you dont have to worry

It doesnt enable raid of any sort automatically

If you are worried about drive safety you could do raid1, which is copying data to both drives, thus if 1 dies you are still good to go and just replace the broken one and it will repair and copy everything back

but as it is you are fine - enjoy :)
